Yuhuchun vase is characterized by a flared rim, a straight neck that broadens at the ends, a bottom-heavy body, and a short foot ring. The motifs of the vase - the curling grass pattern on the border of the rim, the banana leaves on the neck, the fret pattern, and the intertwining floral motif encircling the body -are painted in underglaze red. Bamboo, rock, and banana leaves painted on the abdomen feature the "three friends," and they are interrupted occasionally by lingzhi and grass patterns. The brushstrokes are smooth, just like a small depiction of a garden.
