Description:

|
This bird-shaped water container comes in two parts, the container and the removable "dropper." The bird-shaped water container has a hole on the back for the removable "dropper" to take water. To take water, press on the hole of the "dropper" and dip the "dropper" into the hole on the bird's back. Then release pressure such that water can get into the "dropper." Then, press the hole again to keep water in the "dropper" and remove the "dropper" from the water container. Release water onto the inkstone by reducing pressure on hole of the "dropper." The bird has a flat bottom, and its feather are carved in relief. It has the blue-and-white glaze design. On the wings, an inscribed endorsement, "made in the reign of emperor Zhuande," is visible.
